Doesn't matter what order you do it in as long as you don't run the motor until the springs are done.
You could do springs one day, go back in a few weeks later and take care of the cam. They are almost 2 seperate jobs.

Great wrrite up, JMX. Except you left out the part about how that damn A.I.R. fitting is bolted on top of the driverside coil packs and bolted again in between the head and firewall. That was a bitch. I also just about blew shotgun holes in my radiator

hey JMX...i started my cam/Intake man swap tonight...just did the tear down...i DID get lost on how to disconnect the drivers side hose right behind the TB that goes into the manifold..it has a strange fitting...if u can add that somewhere it would help...otherwise its all good playa

I would swap the springs AFTER for one simple reason. In the nightmare case you drop a lifter during the cam swap, the heads have to come off anyway. Why break your *** doing springs in the car if you have to wind up pulling the heads anyway?
