Default let me know what you think

Have an 02 Firehawk. Looking to do a cam swap. What Cam do you guys recommend with stock heads but changing the Valve springs and everything. Looking for something with a nice lope. Not worried about gas mileage and looking for some as much power as possible with this set up. Car gets driven maybe one or twice a week when the weather is nice ha. let me know what you guys recommend.

What other boltons do you have? A4 or M6 transmission? This might help too.https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...mparision.html

bigger isn't always better when it come to cams, look for a cam with power throughout the power band and not just peak power.

The car is a M6. It has SLP Long tube headers, Loudmouth Exhaust 1, High flow cats, High flow MAF, 160 degree T Stat, SLP Blackwing Intake, The 400HP Kit from SLP haha.

Ya the 400 CRANK hp kit Anyways I would go with the 228r from tsp. Like "platinum" said... bigger isn't alway better. Look at the dyno compairison I put in the first post some of the cams that are alot bigger dont make much more power than the 228 and also look at the hp the cams are making in the 3,000-5,000 rpm range. You arent running your engine at peak rpm all the time so don't get caught up in just peak #'s.

That should be a good cam choice, but I dont know about a mail order tune. I think you would be better off taking it to a good local tuner.

nothing wrong with a mail order...tsp does them i personaly recomend wait4me he done mine twice before i got hp tuners....but a street/dyno tune with a wideband is always better...a car thats driven once or twice a week id go with a custom cam look up chrs1333 "I think" lol his custom cam 230 duration it made over 400rwhp and has netted him 10s cam only....

do some research there is a ton of options
