if your racing, your at WOT... which means your going to run all the way up until 6500rpms or whatever your shifting at.. other than that.. doesnt matter what rpms you make power or dont make power with...

that is the reason i recommended the torquer 2 or 3... both very good cams and a tad smaller than the ms3 ms4..

224 is a bit small for my taste.. i would go with at least a 230ish cam.. but thats just me.. and im no guru..
i think im gonna go with the torquer 2 or 3..It seems good..Now i need my 241's...Oh BTW if you are just swapping heads do you still have to take the cam out or can you leave it in??

you can do heads and the cam can stay in the car... the intake will come off, along with headers dipstick valve covers power steering yada yada yada..

no..

the only cams that that begins to start becoming a problem with are the ms4, polluter, trex.. then you have to use stock valves and shiznit..
you cant run regular 5.3 2.5s prc ls6 stg 2.5s...

you can use prc ls6 stg 1s and so on..

anything with stock valve sizes it will clear.

Car Craft has some good advice on what's needed to get at least 500 horses naturally aspirated. It's basic advice, leaving the ultimate build up to you. Just remember the things they suggest can be had for alot cheaper than summit racing sells them for.

Still it's good information for anyone to have.

According to Duttweiler, all it takes to make 500 hp is cylinder heads that flow 310 cfm or better along with a little more camshaft than stock.
disagree.. and its not quite that easy.... i didnt see a price for exhaust, oil pump, timing chain, etc.... you would need an under drive pulley and all the little bolt ons to get 500 on average out of an ls1..

ahhhh ok... i was assuming.. i usually talk RWHP...

yes, it is easy to achieve 500 in an ls1... flywheel that is, not RWHP..

you could do that with a healthy cam, PRCls6 stg 1s, 90/90, and the usual bolt ons.. would be a lot cheaper than what he did..

Yeah most people usually talk RWHP on here so it's a safe assumption. You are absolutely correct on the other adders for 500 RWHP. The rest of the articles a good read too, but covers all kinds of engines.

Jeez I can't wait to get started on my car......wishing for 15k to pop in my lap....lol

Good to know that i can install the T2 with some 241 and be cool on PTC. But i might go with double springs just to be on the safe side, Xe-R or whatever lobes I heard are pretty aggressive, Maybe Ferrea Valves????..(Did i spell that right..Ahhh U know what i mean..
