good cam choice... dont port an ls6 intake, it would be a waste of money..

you should be able to pick some up for about 300.. but you will also pick up quite a more top end.. it should net you another 15 or so rwhp..

a fast 90/90 instead of an ls6 will net you about 15rwhp... i would sell your ls6 intake and buy a cheap used 90/90.. you can find them now for about 800..

Really I thought a ported FAST and a Ported LS6 Flow the same..If not the same a little bit better but not much..As far as CFM numbers go?

there is charts around here somewhere..

again, dont port an ls6, its not worth it...

as for them flowing the same.. the FAST is a lot better... i dont know the numbers.. but it just flat out is all around better than an ls6... ESPECIALLY with a decent sized cam.. say you go with a T v.2 or v.3... both those cams are pretty hefty and want to breath up top.. the ls6 intakes start falling off with the power above 5600ish rpms... the FAST intakes are still chugging and gaining power about 6k all the way to about 6500-6700..

the ls6 is good for the money, and smaller cams.. but if you want best bang for the buck, get a used FAST 90/90 setup for about 800...

^^^^You may be thinking of the TPIS 90mm conversion. They are pretty neck&neck.

A factory FAST flows about 275 vs. 265 for a LS6. Most people don't realize they are that close.

A port job on a FAST will put it in the 285 range which is a signifigant difference if everything else can keep up.

they may flow close to the same, but in different places.. like said, the ls6 is going to start falling off where you need it for a big cam, and a FAST is going to shine where the big cams need it..

about 10rwhp.. but a port job is going to run you about 300-400 bucks.. depending on who you get to do it.. you can get them CNC'd for about 600.. or, you could buuy some stock ls2 goat heads for about 350-400 and they would flow a tad bit better, for cheaper, and it would be easier..

just something to think about..

no.. not with 241s.. the difference between stock 243s and ported 243s is going to be about 15rwhp vs. 40rwhp.. the difference between stock 241s and ported 241s is going to be about 8rwhp vs. 15-20rwhp..

like i said man, if i was going to do a head swap the VERY LEAST i would put on my car is a set of stock ls6 heads..
head swaps are some what of a pain in the ***.. kinda like a cam.. i dont wanna do it 2-3 times... so why not put a half *** head on in the first place?

if it was an intake that wouldnt be a big deal.. thats a 45 minute job.. but heads arent so fun...

well im a little late but i am here to defend the hotcam haha...true it is an old design and old technology...and true there are better cams out there (personal preference and goals)...but i am very happy with my hotcam and entire setup...with just what i got right now in my sig on stock 241s with LS6 springs im sooooo close to taking an 11 second time slip home....even if it is an 11.9435346....best so far was on stock 3.42 gears and street tires and it ran a 12.52 at 114 mph with a 2.4 60ft!....and every run that night was very close to that in all catagories...if you are on a budget and want a nice running and driving street car dont count the hotcam out...it sounds mean on 112LSA and runs pretty well too...

Very interesting..I did read up on Hot Cams..And vs The T2 or T3 i choose thr Torquer's but A hoty cam would be my choice if my funds dip or a Lingenfelter Cam..But thats pretty ipressive numberes granted using that cam choice.

Sounds Good ..I was reading up on 317 vs 243..Alot of good info..Almost the same except the CC is Bigger on the 317....

Quick Question....Do you have to degree the camshaft, even if the #1 Piston is TDC..Because i have no clue ho to do that.?

243s and 317s flow the same.. 317s lower compression, which means they are better for FI... if your all motor, or even occasionally nitrous i would go for 243s..
