Best Valve-Springs on the market..... Lets get a good valve-spring thread going. Is one better than the other. There are quite a few on the market now that are rated up to .600 lift:
ISKY 295D
COMP 918
Manley 221423
SLP "chrome silicone springs" (Manley Nex Tek)
LPE Springs (Made by Comp similar to 918)
REV 1116 (Drop in Double Springs)
Throwing cost out the window which one of these is the most reliable? Which is the most expensive (ISKY?). I have not included double springs, dont want to modify the head.

Re: Best Valve-Springs on the market..... Isky 295D ALL THE WAY!! there expensive... but we have 18 sets of heads out there now with -0- breakage and reved as high as 7,000 rpm without noticable valve float on the dyno.

Re: Best Valve-Springs on the market..... <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" /> The Iskys are expensive, but after talking with JPR and the guy at Isky who deals with LS1 stuff, I decided to buy them. I bought them when I broke one of my Ersons at start up(thank goodness) two months ago. I bought the 295D's with the base, locks, and retainers. They run great so far with no problems after 2500 miles. I am good to the car most of the time, but I do run it to 6500 with no issues. It will be run higher, once the rev limiter is moved. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" /> Just my two cents <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

The first 3 sets that went out had dampners still in them, On one particular set for Paul "Black Majic" that dynoed 432/409, I used the locater cups with the 295D's with dampners on his heads 5 months ago, I inspected them just recently and the inner dampners STILL chewed the hell out of retainer bottom inside diameter ring. The "fix" that I was told to do was to Bevel/radious the inner Ti retainer "lip" to avoid littering the oil with Titanium particals. But yes, I remove them for the last 12-14 sets of heads with absolutly no problems what so ever.

I guess the 918 failures were just a "batch" problem but that still left a bad taste in my mouth, QC should be tight on stuff like this.
Any vendors want to talk about the double springs, do you guys use them? How much modification is needed to run these on stock heads? How much valvetrain noise do you get over and above the singles listed above?
