I used to dd my setup on stock gears. Futral F15, with supporting bolt ons. It made 394/368 SAE with the ls6 intake, 404/373 SAE with the ported fast 92.

Best so far of 12.0 @ 115 on a 1.71 60' in decent weather (have not run with the fast yet). It should run 11.7 as it sits at about 3700 raceweight. You'll love the low end tq any Futral cam makes.

I have the F-11 228/230 114lsa .576/.595. I have full bolt ons/fast92 combo/stall making 418rwhp/386rwtq. It made 386rwhp/366rwtq with the ls6 intake.

I had a Futral cam, and I loved it. Low end torque quotes posted here are right on. My motor pulled from idle to 7,000+ RPM. However, since my valvesprings were incorrectly set-up by AFR at the AFR facility when I purchased them new from AFR, the excessive spring pre-load may have been at fault in causing one cam lobe to have suffered some extreme wear in only 30,000 miles. Also, and more of a concern to me, was the other flaw I found..... The "diffuser ring", for lack of a better term, was .050" undersize when brand new!!! This diffuser ring, located near the rear of the cam for Gen III motors, is what the cam position sensor reads to determine what stroke a particular cylinder is on, i.e., your piston may be nearing TDC, but could be either on the ignition stroke or exhaust stroke, and this sensor "tells" the PCM which stroke it is, so ignition may occur at the right time. The newer Gen IV motors have this sensor on the front timing cover. In my case, and since the diameter of this diffuser ring is NOT a wear surface, my cam sensor was already .025" farther away (Dividing the .050 difference in diameter from the stock cam to the Futral cam in half to get the .025" per-side difference)from the ring before any cam bearing wear occured. And, trust me, with the installed height of only 1.675"-1.700", using Comp 921's, a LOT of bearing wear occured!!! When I bought this cam new, I ordered it from Allan himself. It spec'd out @ .595" lift intake/ .603" lift exhaust/ 232 degrees duration on intake/ 236 exhaust/ ground on a 112 degree LSA. It went into a 427 cube motor and I told Allan I wanted a mild cam (For the size motor) as my C5 was to be a daily driver (Does 30,000 miles(!) in 8 months qualify?). I loved the cam, got over 25 miles a gallon at 65-70 m.p.h. on the freeway, and it made about 500 R.W.H.P. in an A4 with a 3200 stall. What I DIDN'T like was the customer service. After my huge problem surfaced, I called and called them, and never got ONE phone call back. I wasn't looking to try and get a new cam for free- I just needed a new cam-period, and wanted to re-order the same basic grind that I had before. As good as the cam was, and they probably still are, I would be wary of any company that I could not contact after more than 5 tries! I tried all the different links Forum members recommended at the time, and even tried different times of the afternoon, morning, etc. Good luck!! P.S.- Futral cams, at the time of my purchase, at least, were ground on Cam Motion lobes. Kurt Urban, formerly of Wheel to Wheel Powertrain, highly recommended that I stick with Futral cams. And I would have, had I been able to order a new one from them.

I've heard someone else say that but everyone I know that goes there including myself have not had any issues.

I also think they still use Cam Motion lobes. There cams make a helluva lot of power. You see what lil' ole F-11 is putting out

Cam Motion cams on average (making sure thats highlighted for all the Comp nuthuggers) make more power and have better driveability than the other grinds. I've done tons of cam swaps over the years, and Futral and/or Cam Motions have always prevailed in performance.

My biggest dislike about them, is valvetrain noise. They will turn your car into a sewing machine on steroids.

I would have never known that because so many people go with comp or something else but thats good info.

In stock cubes I ran the F14 (232/234 with .600 lift on a 112) in my Z06. With the ls6 heads and that cam I was making 423 rwhp 408 rwtq. I was running a consistant 11.6-11.7 @ 119-120 with short times of 1.7 in the 60 foot. I eventually sold the ls6 heads and added Dart 205s milled for more compression. I was putting down 451 rwhp 423 rwtq with the dart heads with the F14 cam. I never made any good track passes on that setup because I cracked some pistons soon after the head install.

I dont go to Futral any more for tuneing but I can admitt that his cams are very good. I have used the f13 with great results( times in sig) and now am running the f14 with my 6.0 lq4 shortblock with great results.

In my Nova I am running his cam that he makes for 383's which is 239/243 @ .050 lift is around .612 but not sure on a 112 lsa +2 advance.

I have this cam because I bought it from a freind and I have a really light car with stock cubed ls1 at 11.7/1 compression with a 5300 converter. I have not ran this Nova yet but it sounds really good and leaves hard in my driveway. I am going to the track next sunday with it.

I've actually been planning on getting a cam from them. A buddy of mine suggested the F6 112LSA. It would be going on my daily driver that right now has a cat-back, BBK throttle body, and K&N intake, all of which came on the car. I'm planning on adding an LS6 intake, pace setter LT's and y-pipe (already have these), valve springs, retainers, pushrods, and an LS2 timing chain, maybe an upgraded oil pump as well. Would this be a good match for my set up? Down the road I'm planning on adding heads and a 100-150 shot. Thanks for any help you guys can give me.
