It would probably be cheaper to just buy the LS7 block, assuming it would even be possible.
Resleeving a block is not cheap!

Ls1 sleeves are milled into the block. Taking them out would be such a waste of time and effort. Ls1 sleeves are not designed to be serviceable. They are milled into the aluminum of the block. Dont do it. I dont care if its been done. They were not meant to be serviced so just dont do it. Get a new block if you want to take that route.

Actually there cast/glued in place not milled in.... The only way to get one out is basically boring it past the liner and installing a new larger OD sleeve... trying to get LS7 Liners to work would be a waist of time... and you can replace the liners in an LS1 Block but it need's to be done by a compatent machine shop that has the right equipment and know how... DARTON makes big bore sleeves for LS1 blocks but by the time you spend the money Its cheaper to just Get an LSX block... Hell a new aluminum LS2 with a 4.000 bore is like $1200 if you want aluminum. Structurally speaking, even though the darton sleeves interlock in a sense It still won't hold together like its Iron counterpart...

My .02 worth for the day...

Default LS1 sleeving

Can't be done. The only way to sleeve the LS1 is with MID wet liners. If you attempt to machine the LS1 or LS6 blocks large enough to take the dry liner, you will break through into the coolant passage between the cylinders.

The Darton LS7 dry liner is designed for the LS2 and later blocks, LS7, L92, LS3 which are true siamesed wall blocks.

Cost of dry sleeving costs considerably less than the LSx block if you have a core block already. The Darton sleeves are .300" longer than the LSx cylinder walls. Also the weight of the aluminum block is a good 125 lbs. less than the LSx. What block you use depends on the application.

Ok there is your Answer!!! From some one who has probally actually Machined on this sort of stuff...

Thanks Steve for Sharing. I knew Some type of liner is availible for the LS1 But it always seems cost prohibtive to Mess with That stuff Vs. Some of the new over the counter stuff Like the LS2 and LS3 Blocks...
