And thats a "cheaper" one.. Ive learned the hard way to not cut corners and use "cheaper" parts, it will end up costing more in the long run.

Do they even make crank sizes for LS series engines between the 3.62 & 4.0" stroke?

Does it require any machining to a block to use that 3.9" crank?

I recommend a SCAT crank iwould run the 4.000" stroke that way you wouldnt have to hone as much to get the cubes. Scat is just as good as eagle in my opinion.

Not for the crank, but it would if you need to change the bore size.

SGI supposedly now makes a nodular iron 4.00" stroker crank for LS engines. They also make a forged 4340 one. They also make some nice looking 6.100 and 6.125 SBC Severe Duty I-beam and lightweight I-beam rods that'll work in our motors if you get pistons that use .927 dia pins.
They're imports i'm sure but so is eagle, scat, compstar, and K-1.

Here's a link:
http://www.sgiperformance.com/pdf/webcateloge.pdf
Pg 4 for the cranks
Pg 6 & 7 for the rods

The 3.905 bore (hone cylinders) is a increase of only "one" cubic inch. The remaining increase in cubic inches comes from the stroke...3.90 or 4.00 crank.

But wouldnt there need to be some clearancing done if you put in a 3.9" crank for the rods now, because of the increased stroke?

4" will put you at 382 cubes. The 3.900 stroker crank has been discontinued by eagle We stock the 4" stroke cranks, and we can put together a complete rotating assembly for you! Give us a call if we can help.
