Yea it'll shift into 4th while you're wot? maybe there's something special in the 02 programming, my 98 won't shift into 4th while i'm wot, maybe I can find a way to program it...i'll have to post up in the tranny section

That stall is not near enough for a TREX!!! You need at least 4200 or bigger!! I had a forged heads/cam 348ci with a TREX V2, and it pulled like a freight train from 4000-up, but under 4000rpms it was like playing a waiting game for it to come alive! If you stay with a 3600 stall, go with a G5X2, or X3, or something comparable. You will most certainly not be happy with a TREX and 3600 stall.

I'm leaning towards the ms3. should work well with the 3600 stall from what i've seen. i'll be doing either 373s or 410s too. probably doing those first because only being able to spin one tire seems to be a bit more pressing than doing a cam lol if anyone has any reason I shouldn't go with an ms3 i'm all ears

i know a guy running an ms3 and hitting it with a large shot of nitrous with the stock trans with a shift kit and the corvette servo. i've got the tranny set pretty much to the max WOT so it doesn't burn out the clutches/bands, but we'll see what happens this year. it's quite possible that a lot of stuff will break this year lol

also, im just going to toss out my opinion here. I think you would be money ahead to get a custom grind from slohawk or PatrickG. For a couple of reasons. First off its taylored to your setup, and what you want to do with the car. Second, you can quite possibly get a smaller duration cam and get the same or better results as the MS3/MS4/TRex. Third, if smaller duration it will give you abit easier tuning, and alot better drivability. Just my 3 pennies worth.

i looked into it because i was pissed about it at first.. and then once i did my research i was happy about it..
i would get someone to tune it to where it wont allow OD in WOT.. it is NOT a good idea at all.. and i would rather lower my top speed than replace my tranny..
if you want to know more about it, just do some research, there are quite a few threads about it..

I'm confused about the not shifting into 4th WOT. Are you in the right gear position?
How does it overheat the trans though? If it did how do cars hit their top speeds if not WOT? I understand the transmission output shaft (and therefore planetary gear sets and holding clutchs) are spinning extremely fast, but that would be a speed issue, not a load issue. So it would be basically like saying you just can't go over that MPH, WOT or not.... guess I'm off to do research too

and yes i was in D.. when i first tried to get my top speed.. i kicked it.. it pulled EXTREMELY hard to the 130-140ish mark and then just stopped.. it for SURE didnt run out of power (i have plenty of that) it just ran out of gear.. i tried it 2-3 more times after that.. i thought the same thing as you said, i thought maybe i hit my shifter into 3 or something.. but i didnt.. did 3 more pulls and same thing every time.. went back and told a buddy and he said it was set like that to save my tranny from over heating and destroying itself, asked a car buddy that rebuilds trannys and he said same thing.. then i came on here and did some research, same answer..
