I wouldnt see why not. Should see a nice little gain out of it too. You may want to think about a cam if you're already doing all this.

it would be ok just to swap out the one side... but why? at this point, you've already pulled the head, drained all the coolant... unbolt the other head bolts and put the new lifters on both sides...

You may as well replace the lifter trays as well $30-$40

Not saying this will happen but it could wipe your cam lobe and lifter spins in the tray coming apart and sending crap through the whole motor. I wouldn't drive til it's fixed personally.

Anyone have pictures of a collapsed lifter or how to check for it? I have been having this same problem for over a year, I just parked the car in the garage and took it apart and it's been sitting there for like 9 months... I just finally pulled the driver side head today and pulled the lifter and they seem fine, the only thing I can find is 1 or 2 small nicks at the top of the lifter cup on 2 of the lifters, could be just part of the casting though.

I haven't pulled the passenger head yet because I was almost certain the driver side was the problem.... is there any way to test them ?? Or would it be obvious which one is the problem?

maybe they can be tested by air pressure at the port the oil goes into and see if the cup responds? i would use the regulator to turn the air pressure down to say 10 or 20 psi if you do it.
