Default take a look at this 6.0 please

I could get a good deal on this 2007 2500HD with 97000 miles.
Are the newer 6.0 motors the same as the 2000 on up?? I know 99 and
2000 had a crank difference. I would like to put a 6/speed behind this.
So, is there any difference I should know about?? THANKS

check the casting number on the heads,
if its 317 it should still be 24x, it they are 823 then they are l92 and more thsn likly will have 58x, and will not work with fbody pcm or harness.

i would be careful of that motor, if its been on its lid, it may have dried out the bottom end and traashed some bearings.

I seriously doubt it would run upside down long enough to do any damage.

what is the casting number? try to get it for lower price
u will need a 24mm socket and breaker bar. it helps if u remove the plugs, but turning it over does not guarantee that the bearings are not hurt.
if it binds too much it may be damaged

the engine comes complete with the PCM and harness. I would use this for a

76 camaro conversion with a 6/speed, so that should be alright, right??
I was gonna send the harness off to speartech to delete what was not needed.

Would I have to use a F-body pcm and harness due to the 6/speed??
Ill go back tomorrow and pull the cover.

u can hv the harness modified to fit in the car, a t56 will bolt right up
it will be easier if u use all fbody t56 parts.
the 6.0s came with 4l80e stock

i personally, if you can get it for a good price, i would just take the pan off, and change the rod and main bearings. around 180 bucks for both sets, and while your down there, put an LS2 timing chain and change the oil pump. just to be on the safe side. its all cheap insurance. if it does have trashed bearings, you run the risk of spinning one and trashing more parts.

I was not even gonna run a LS1 intake. I was just gonna put a
Z06 cam in it, and a F-body oil pan, put it in the car and get it running
and driving. I know I would need f-body front pulley accessory also. Then
find a 98 to 2002 T-56 to mate up to it.

I can get it complete with everything for $1500.00. No $500.00 core charge
like most place's want to hit you up for

$1500.00 no trans. Don't need it anyway.

that motor has the 24X crank and 317 heads on it. You can tell from the three bolt throttlebody. the newer ones have a 90mm 4-bolt TB. I would get it, and when you swap pans just pull a cap off a rod and look and see if theres any wear, shouldnt be but just take a look and see. If there is then rod bearings if caught soon enough arent expensive.

It is an LQ4 and it was rated at 325hp, 2500 (HD) did not use the LQ9, 345HP.
