Default cam in 04 GTO

Considering putting a cam in my 04 GTO (LS1). Wondering if any of you guys have done it?
Do you have to remove the engine?
Thanks for any help

That is for F-body's. I have already put a cam in a f-body, I am wondering about a cam in a GTO.
Thanks

As stated, being an LS1, it's basically the same. The engine does not come out. The radiator and fan assembly does come out. The rest is just moved out of the way.

The first time I did this to my GTO, it took about 10 hours. I suck at working on cars so many people can do it faster.

EDIT: There is a write up on LS1GTO. The f-body one will work though. It's really no different.

Thanks, I was mostly curious about the oil pickup tube b/c it was a tight fit on the f body cam I did. So, there is obviously more clearance on the k-member to oil pan.

I have never swapped cams in an F-Body, so I cannot compare the two. You do have plenty of room in the GTO though. You will be fine!

It shouldn't be too bad, all depends on how you do it, different people have different processes. Cammed GTOs are sexy though...
