Default Opinions needed

Im going H/C/I just want a couple opinions before i order the last of the small parts that are nickle and diming me to death.

Heres the setup,
stock bottom end '01 LS1 full bolt-ons blah, blah
Ported 90/90 plumbed with NX direct port (will not spray more then a 150ish as i'm thinking i'll be on the ragged edge of the stock motor)
custom upper23x/lower24x .62x"/.62x"
TEA Trickflow 215's milled to 61cc (was going to have them milled to 59cc but PTV clearance prohibited it)

I was told with a .054 gasket I'll be at around 11.0to1 compression with .070-.080 intake .090-.100 exhaust P-T-V can anyone confirm this?

my debate comes to which gasket to run, I've been searching for the past 2 1/2 hours and cant get a straight answer. no body seems to know the real compressed thickness of the GM MSL gasket. I keep hearing .052-.053-.054-.056-.060 thats a pretty large variance. If I knew it would be between .052-.054 I would just order the GM gasket. otherwise I'm also looking at the .051 Cometic gasket (.054 compressed) but searching shows people saying Cometic says to not to run the 3.910 bore gasket on the 5.7L, but to run the 3.980 gaskets instead. anyone care to comment on this?

Next is Lifters
Im not sure what the consensus is for lifters on a cam my size. the LSL lobes and .62X lifts wont be a forgiving as some of the smaller cams out there. I know the almighty "LS7's" are going to get overwhelming support because thats what most people go with because of the price. What about the O.E. COMP/CRANE replacements? any benefit to these? I really dont mind spending the extra money to not have to pull the heads back off in a month. I dont think I'm to the point where Morels or the high end Cranes are a must....

Also, Im leaning towards not doing it but it was brought up by a friend that i should do rod bolts while im at it. I've been researching it and dont think im going to risk a spun bearing. I have an '01 motor so the bolts should be stronger then the earlier motors, but how much better? I plan to shift at 6,400 I read that the '01+ rods are rated at 6,900rpm sustained, any truth to this?

Anyways thanks for taking the time to read / comment on this. I need to get these parts ordered ASAP so please post up.

I wouldn't get to worked up over a couple of .001s. It's .051 i'm sure. As far as lifters, "new" stockers should do you fine or an upgraded Crane or Morel will work also. Why a direct port if your only going to spray 150? PTV will probably be an issue also.

thanks for the reply,

What do you mean as far as PTV?

so the GM is around .051? your right though, I guess i got a little excited over it haha

the DP was too sweet of a deal to pass up. I was in the hunt for a 90/90 and a 90mm plate and it happened that a good friend was parting his 8sec Z28. NEW 90/90 already plumbed w/4 CF NX solenoids(new),(used) SVO red tops & fuel rails(stockers but hey) for 1,300$ once i finally pop this motor and get a forged one i'll be ready.

I wasn't wanting to, the 13.5* valves on the TFS were supposed to buy me some extra clearance. the whole H/C setup was spec'd to me with knowledge of it being on stock pistons and was said to clear. of coarse I plan to check it before start up but if you guys think its not going to work i'll run a thinker gasket.

PTV= piston to valve issues. Milling and with that profile cam, your intake valve will probably be aliitle to close for ones liking. The TFS will give you better/more clearance, but aftermarket rockers will need to be purchased with that head.

LOL, I Know what PTV means, I guess i did kind of word that a little strange. I was curious as to what issues you saw. I respect your advice thats why I posted. Any Idea as to how much clearance I'll actually have. Is there a way to calculate it? If so I have all the valve events.

I understand with stock heads this wouldn't clear, the Trick flows have already been ordered, they ship out from TEA Monday. I also have a new set of Yella Terra Ultra Lites that just showed up.

.080 intake and .100 exhaust but some go closer. On a steet motor that won't get torn down very often I would go no closer than that......
