Re-Using valve springs.
Hey Everyone.
Im trying to decide whether i can continue using these springs, or whether i should just pop some new ones in.
Im on a SUPER tight budget, but i wont cut a corner if its putting my motor at serious risk.
My cam is .575/.563 111 LSA.
The valve springs have about 6k on them. Ive also got a set of NIB LS6 springs, but thats right on the boarder of their max lift, so im thinkin it may be best to go with some heavier springs.
Do my springs still have life left in them? Would only put on 3-4k before i replace them with some PRC's. Just dont want to drop a valve, as i cant afford to replace my motor.

Im running comp 918 springs. Not sure how old they are. Their natural coloured, with no markings.
Just found my cam card.
Duration: 230.7 intake, 223.4 exhaust.
Lift: .581 intake, .564 exhaust
LSA: 111.4*

Although, personally I would stick with PAC springs myself if I was going beehives.

I wouldn't be afraid to run them, beehives seem to last a LONG time. If your worried have them checked.
Sounds like you had the bad batch. Comp used to have PAC mfg their springs, they dumped PAC (american company) for a "South of the Border" supplier IIRC and that's when they had problems. They have since fixed the issues they had during that debacle.
