Default Best Heads for TRAK cam?

OK I am new to the LS1 world the car I pick up Saturday has a TRAK cam and I was wanting opions on heads? It will get a P/P FAST 92mm/95mm TB too. I was looking at either the Patriot 5.3 stg 2.5 heads or the LS6 stg 3 heads. I want to not spend a fortune to I think AFR's and all the expensive ones are out. Any input would be much appreciated!! THANKS

I ran a set of Patriot stage 2 243's with the Trak, switched later to a set of AFR small bore 225's. It ran good with both sets.

I'm running a Trak cam with the Patriot Stg 2 LS6 heads milled 59cc. If your not willing to flycut the pistons, stick to the LS6 64cc chambered heads. I wanted the added compression so I got the milled heads and flycutted. Oh, and get ready to be replacing your valve springs every 10-12k miles. The lift on that cam pretty much maxes out the .650 springs every time it is compressed on the intake valve so it wears out a lot quicker than a smaller lift cam.

My advice is get the BEST heads available and take that 92/92 $$$$ and put toward TFS AFR or Cary's new casting(formerly ETP). Just run a LS6 IM now and pick up a 92/92 down the road. Heads will ultimately determine your power so get the best you can afford.

I wish I had done this........

feel free to correct me but I think the patriot stage 3 heads require a 4.0 bore? Ls1 is a 3.9 So you would be able to use the stage II heads but not the stage III.

What are you power goals? patriot and tea are good heads for the cost. They are about half the price of afr/trickflow.

AFR and trickflow will make more power, but its all up to you.. you can get a fast 92/92 and patriot stage II heads for the same price as the afrs with upgraded springs.
