Default AFR heads available soon!

AFR will have their new LS1 heads available to ship in a few weeks!

These are the first aftermarket LS1 heads on the market!
Emissions legal
High-flow 300+ CFM performance & durability
Direct bolt-on, no special parts required
75+ hp gain over the stock head!

Structural features like AFR's trademark 3/4" think head deck, reinforced rocker stud bosses and thick wall runner provide unparalleled durability. Performance features include 2.02-16.0 valves and 300+ CFM at .600 lift. Available in two CNC ported runner sizes - 205cc and 225cc with 66cc and 76cc combustion chamber volumes for both. The heads will be available in an affordable "as cast" version or you can step up to the CNCed version. An exclusive new chamber design provides impressive swirl figures and helps these heads generate big low and mid lift air flow numbers.

We are now taking orders to provide you with one of the first sets that become available.

Part numbers and pricing are -

AFRLS1CA
LS1 AFR "as cast" head package
$1749.99

AFRLS!CN
LS1 AFR CNC version
$2429.99

Another benefit of these heads is - there is no exchange required! Now you can purchase a brand new set of heads and not have to worry about sending yours as a core exchange.

Tom, are these heads basically just for stock ls1 bore sized engines? Just wondering about valve and chamber sizes. My engine and tranny are shot and am looking to go with a 382 all-bore and would like to slap a set of these and the new LSX intake on it if they truly offer better gains over our current options. Thanks for any info.

Any idea if the springs are set up to deal with XE-R type lobes and lift?

Use standard LS1 head gaskets?

Do they recommend a specific head gasket?

This makes me rethink my lusting after the MTI S2E's all of a sudden.

for all you guys asking the questions of port sies and chamber sizes of the fr heads they actually have 2 specs to choose from the larger i would assume better fitted for the strokers. if more answers pick up the latest issue of hot rod they have a small break down on the heads in the product section.

75+ hp gain over the stock head!

Now this I gotta see , sounds awesome.

I don't doubt the quality of AFR's heads, chit their some of the best street heads out there proven time and time again

Has AFR provided any dyno graph comparisons?

CNC price isn't to bad either

Forgive my cynicism...

Put up a flow sheet or they're overpriced junk.

HELLO AFR? Anybody listening? A head that flows +300 cfm at .600 lift is available right now for $1800 with no core charge.

Is your UNPORTED head that good? If not, you've failed.

AFR is also just under $1800 with NO CORE. Its to my understanding, that unlike the other companies, this is not a ported stock head, but a brand new design....

I'll take a head that flows 300cfm at .6" with only a 205cc port any day over whats out there now! Less volume and more CFM = much higher velocity, which equates to gobs and gobs of power under the curve. Peak CFM is only an indication of max HP potential. I really hope people don't buy a head based soley on peak CFM numbers.

Those heads really turned the Stang crowd upside down, I'm currently in the market for a set, for my (small block Ford) 347, one of the best out of the box!
I'll wait to see some track times, beside with all the controversy about who's stage II package is better, we needed a better designed head!

I would love to see a dyno sheet on these heads, with that small of a port I would expect some real good low end numbers. These heads are why I have put off buying heads. All the AFR stuff I've seen has been awesome. Wait until Absolute or tea get ahold of some sets. This should prove intresting.

I hope there not like the LT-1 AFR heads. They were just about worthless over the LT-4. To get the 300 plus cfm at .600, I'm sure you have to get the CNC version, which means you spend $2500 on heads that have about the same capabilities as some 5.3 heads for $1500 or less. It would be hard for me to believe that they could improve over GM design that much. Only thing thats looks better is the deck thickness and ability to go a little wilder on the port work.

1) There is a ported LS6 style head out there that flows 300cfm for $1800.

2) There's no core charge on them either.

Unless the UNPORTED AFR head outflows that head at that price there is no point to using them and my opinion would be that they've failed.
