which head gasket?

i'm starting to piece together parts for my h/c/i install when i get home and wanted to know what head gasket i should go with(stock bore). i was thinking the cometic at .030 thickness to help raise compression. is this too thin?

No, it's not too thin since you're running copper gaskets. I believe the stock thickness is .052, so you should be good. I'm waiting for my copper gaskets to come in. Mine will be the .051 size. I'd rather just keep it around stock thickness plus maybe later for forced induction. lol

What heads and cam are you going to be using? Depending on the lift and duration you mite have to flycut for piston to valve clearance.

Just get the stock head gaskets only about $40.00 I think they are 0.051 thickness.

thats the reason i want to go with thinner cometic, to raise compression and power

i guess i should wait to see which heads before i decide on the gasket, either gonna be 243's or if i can find a hell of deal on 5.3's

with 5.3s, torquer 2, and a .030 head gasket? wait till you install the cam and then check your ptv before you order the head gasket.
