Default MAST Heads

What do you guys think about these new heads by MAST? Flow numbers are ridiculous compared to other ls1/ls6 aftermarket heads.

The prices are ridiculous compared to other LS1/LS6 aftermarket heads! $3600 assembled, and that's WITHOUT the hollow valves or the nitrided dual springs!

However, I would LOVE to see what kind of numbers people put down with them.

Keep in mind they are not a cathedral port head like your "other LS1/LS6 aftermarket heads" either.

I am aware of this, but at more than $1000 over the cost of some nice AFR or TFS heads.... these things better put down some SERIOUS numbers! Personally, if I was going to drop that kind of coin on that style head, I would put the money into a new shortblock with a larger bore and just run some CNC ported factory heads.

Yea, I was more referring to the OP's comment about their flow numbers.

I want dyno numbers and track results though, flow numbers don't mean **** to me. I understand them, but if they don't make power why spend the money?

Big flow means big power, aslong as the runners ain't like 300cc or something lol

These heads would be sick to have, but until the LSXr intake comes out it seems almost overkill, no way a ls3 intake would flow enough to keep up with those high lift flow numbers. Mid lift numbers on those things look sick too...

I hear ya bro. You have to have flow and velocity, not just flow.

I'd like to see more on these heads myself . I think they'll make the power and be an alternative to ET LS7 head . Does anyone know anything about the casting other than what's online ?

Big flow is just part of the power combination. When l92 heads came out everybody was frickin gonzo about them. Then guys started loosing power on the bottom of the tach and they werent quite so godly anymore. Im not bad mouthing l92's just making a point. It depends where in the rev range your motor lives IMO.

Im willing to drop the $$$ if these heads put down at least 520rwhp with my 346ci.

MAST is marketing these "small bore" ls3 style heads for 346 applications... definatly and interesting deal.

I would think so.. WIth the right setup. Cam, Intake and supporting mods to take advantage of all that flow. Should be interesting anyways.

Did anyone else see the 245cc intake runner size? And 2.08 intake valve? Seems WAY huge for a 346. Wouldn't a 245cc runner be better for a bigger (like 402) block? Seems like they would be great for an LS2 stroker, not so much a 346.
