Ok built a nice 427 shortblock been saving up money for heads. but old motor just blew today.
Can i use my old heads with the new short block then a few months later switch out the heads to nice new ones. Is there any issues, with that other then wasting time? Both are ls2 block and heads

new block is Arp studs i have 9.8 with 68 cc heads so i might only be at 10.2 with the stock ls2 heads.
Yea i know ill be choking the motor but i blew a rod on old motor and only have 1200 to spend to get it running again. plus im only looking for 800-850 RWHP for now and the stock ls2 was at around 650 with my blower
I just wanted to be sure i wont warp the block or anything using old heads.

You might want to actually do the math on it.
What pistons are you running? How much dish?
Assuming flat-tops with 4cc valve reliefs and generic head gasket numbers, you're close to 11.5:1 static ratio just offhand.
