Default 228r cam with 59cc heads

im using a stock gm head gasket and stock pistons, do yall know if i will have any ptv clearence problems thought i would see what yall say before i give texas speed a call tomorrow. thanks greg

of course im going to measure, the cam i have no isnt gonna clear im just gonna make sure the 228r cam is gonna clear even though im gonna check it out before firing over the motor

The question you should ask is (By how much will it clear?) and how much PTVC are you confident on running?

Also with that size of cam, high compression is not needed. IMO you should shoot for 11:1 which would give you comfortable PTVC and power benefit. That would require 62cc with .052 gasket or 61.5cc to be sure (if gasket a tad thicker), so I vote for 61.5cc max mill with the 228/228 112 LSA.

No clearance problems with 228R cam and Prc 5.3 Stage 2.5 heads with 59cc
chambers and GM gaskets.
Been on mine since March '08.
