Thumbs up

Shell Rotella T 15w 40, K&N 6L truck filter 157k miles, great oil pressure 40 psi @ idle. I really don't think you can go wrong with any name brand oil, changing the oil and filter at regular intervals is whats important. I change mine EVERY 5k.

its called "break in" for a reason. It should be used for break in, and this is mostly for older engines. If you are using a good oil, you should not need any additives, as the add packs in the oil itself should be just fine. Zinc has a by product which is ash, this can build up in cylinders, cats, O2 sensors etc causing problems...

The only 2 oils I use in all three of my cars are either AMSOIL or Royal Purple. The only 2 filters I will use are Wix or Mobile 1. There are many studies out there but the ones I have seen put the products I mentioned at the very top. I'd stay away from Fram filters too- EVERY study I've seen shows that FRAM is overpriced garbage!!

I get free penzoil platinum from my work (Jiffy Lube). Since I bracket race it, I change the oil about every 800 miles. I usually either use AC Delco or Wix filters. Depending on what is available.

Penzoil Platinum 5w30 winter 10w30 summer. You can get 5 quart jug at wal-mart for $20. Just buy it in the 5qt size and measure it out and you save quite a bit. Run a decent filter and put six quarts in instead of 5.5 if you do any driving where long heavy turns are involved.

Can't beat the protection vs. price.

Royal Purple is junk btw....Just go to that site and do some research. And DON'T use additives.

It depends on what you're doing with the car. As bad as Mobil-1 5W-30 is known for turning into water at high temp/load, their 0W-30 is worse.
