figured I would toss this out there. The car is currently in the process of being repainted. Same f
actory color but some high quality paint and clears being used this time.

well I PM'd predator-z asking about making a camshaft suggestion as I think these are the heads that I will be going with but I have yet to hear back from him. Does anyone have any suggestions? The car is a street car that is full weight.

You could say that I am biased too .. I really like the stage 1.5 TEA 5.3 heads that I have ... the flow sheet that came with them showed 316 at .600 lift ... I had them milled .030 and use .040 cometic head gaskets for a nice tight quench....it is a full bolt ons head/cam car that makes 452/418 and is a dailey driver..

man now I am getting both sides of the fence. First it was do the 243's and now its do the 5.3's. Other than being able to use the stage 2 243's when I throw something with more cubes in the mix. Which head would perform better on the setup that I have now? I am just trying to see out all of my options.
slt200mph, what cr are you running? also what cam are you running with that setup?

i get it if you arent wanting to show everyone the specs for your cam but do you care to give the old "ballpark figure"? Seems like you are putting down some pretty good numbers assuming you don't have a big cam. auto or m6?

very good. Well these Stage 1.5 5.3's seem pretty tempting anyone on here have any results from the Stage 2 LS6 heads? I have seen/been told the 5.3's are a bad *** head, and I keep getting suggestions toward the LS6's but nobody seems to have any results using them outside of speculation. Unfortunately I have yet to get an email back from TEA. I would really like to hear what they have to say about the deal.

Those numbers are on a brake. I would love to launch my car like that but I basically have a stock tranny with a vig 3200. As far as the flow #'s they are available on TEA's website. I am just trying to educate myself on what would work best for my setup and my driving habits(primarily street use). Whichever head will perform the best given my setup. If I need to swap out my cam while I am doing the head swap I would be more than happy to. I just need a little guidance on putting the setup together.

TEA's flow numbers on their site are conservative. I would guess the bare minimum if you order.
I battled in between getting my 243 ported and getting some AFR 225's ported so I wouldn't have to buy another set of heads when I build up a 408 and came to the conclusion that I can always get most of my money out of these if I keep my flow sheet and then I can buy my AFR 225s.
What are your plans when you rebuild? Blower, Turbo, Nitrous?

I would love to do a turbo but being realistic about the deal would probably be a 383 or 402 with a blower. I just dropped some good money my headers, exhaust etc. So I don't really wanna get rid of that stuff just to do a turbo. I figure I might as well work with what I've got before I start changing stuff out. As for now I would like to just have a car that runs solid 11.50's in a full weight car n/a.
