Default TEA 5.3 Stage 1.5 Heads any good?

I have heard good things about TEA but I figured I would ask the group about them. I put up a post awhile ago about the TFS 215's that TEA does. They posted some pretty impressive flow #'s however I am not so sure that I really want to drop that kind of money on some really nice heads on a motor that I will most likely only keep another year or two. So now I am finding myself looking at something more in the budget line. So I came across the Stage 1.5 5.3 heads that TEA has. Does anyone on here run them? Track times? My mods are as follows.
1998 Trans Am:
Hooker 1 3/4" Longtubes
QTP ORY-pipe with Flowmaster dual 3"-4" Merge with 4" cutout
Magnaflow Catback
224/230 .581/.592 114lsa (X-ER lobes)
Comp 1.75 rockers
Vigilante 3200 Stall
LS6 Intake Manifold
Stock Rear with 3.23's

Full weight car
You guys think these heads would be a good option for my current setup? Any suggestions if not? I don't want to spend more than $1750 on heads so don't start throwing out names like AFR, TFS, ETP, Dart, etc. because I just can't afford that much right now.

I am a big fan of the TEA LS6 2.0 or the 2.5 they flow very close to the same as the trickflows and half the price pluse if you go with a bigger cube motor on down the road the 2.0 or 2.5 will still work very well with bigger cubes.

Predator if I was going with these heads(stg 1.5 5.3's) what cam would you reccomend for this setup? I think I might get something custom ground to work with these heads since the car is going to be torn apart anyway. The reason I am not really looking into the LS6's from TEA is they charge way more if you dont have the ls6 heads to send them to have the work done.

For the 2.0 is 1800 for the heads and the work fully dressed it use to be 1600 for the 2.0 no core full dressed and 1800 for the 2.5 no core fully dressed but they got low on cores so the price went up. pluse you can still run stock rockers.

well I guess I should have mentioned that I have comp 1.75 rockers. I dont know if these are any good or not. Not too much is really said about them on here. It always seems like I am hearing about the HS or YT rockers.

also would the LS6 heads be that much better than the 5.3 heads? I mean the extra $300 for the LS6 2.0's isn't all that much if it is a significantly better head. Keep in mind that this is primarily a street car. When it does see the track I would like to run 11.50's in a full weight car N/A. Think its possible with the setup I've got plus either the ls6 or 5.3 heads? The car also has QA1 12 ways up front and out back, QA1 275lb front springs, LCA relocation brackets, Boxed LCA's, and adjustable panhard.

I just had them do my 243's with their Stage 2 and they came out amazing. They look like art work and their flow rates are even better then advertised. I have no problem recommending them.

look at the mid lift #'s to for the 5.3 stg1.5 to the 243's 2.0 that is were the $300 diff is they are a killer street track head for the money for sure and like i said if you change and go with a bigger motor next year or so thes heads will work well with the bigger cubes for sure. Thats just my .02cents

you think the ls6's would allow me to meet my goals et wise with my current camshaft? Or do you think I should put something different in aswell? I was really hoping pred-z would toss some info out there regarding cam selection for the heads.

I had Patric G spec a real torque cam for me. Everone I spoke to one here said the few bucks it costs for him to do it is well worth it.

so I am currently running a 224/230 .581/.592 114lsa cam. Would you guys suggest changing it out? I will say that I could most definately tolerate a more aggressive cam. Whats in there now drives like stock!

I haven't taken the car to the track since I put the cam and stall in it. Back when I was just running the bottle and basic boltons it went 11.97. Sold the bottle because I f'd up my heads. Didn't have the money for anything other than some used stockers so thats whats still on the car.

With my old cam 216/220 .522 I picked up 50hp just by changing to the stg1 5.7 head(241s). Also there customer service is second to none!
