I read an article in HPP about the PRC 2.5 5.3's and a 224/230 .581/.588 114 lsa cam and they were only able to click off some low 12 second passes. That depressed the hell out of me and I don't really think the highest of those heads after that. I also know that that is only one car but I guess I just expected more out of that setup(especially since the only difference between the cam they ran and mine is the exhaust lift. Theirs is .588 and mine is .592) I want to get my next setup to run 11.50's n/a, and reliable.

man...I just checked my email and TEA sent me a message. I guess they are out of stock of the 243 cores
so if I want to do the 2.0 LS6's from them I am going to have to purchase a set of them used somewhere. All of a sudden those 5.3's aren't looking so bad...

man that is impressive. I think I just need to get with a shop that really knows how to get me a full weight car to run 11.50's with a heads and cam setup on top of what I already have for supporting mods.

I had a long conversation with TEA recently and they had me leaning towards the TFS 220 as cast heads. I should have bought the stage II LS6's when they had the cores.
I'd rather spend a little more and not have to worry about PTV clearance too. I think the 1.5's are 1450 or so? TEA was telling me that the PTV on the 1.5's with my X1 would be pretty close. They recommend 228 or less on the intake. The TF heads need the PR's and rockers which add up to about 500 or so. At that price you're close to AFR's too. I'll never be able to choose a cylinder head when the time comes.

tell me about it. However it would seem that I am going to be picking up a set of 243's for a pretty good price. Enough to make it cheaper than paying $1800 for the heads and work from TEA. So I hope I am making the right choice going this route. I just need to make a damn decision on what my goal is for the car and start piling up parts...

Those numbers are on a brake. I would love to launch my car like that but I basically have a stock tranny with a vig 3200. As far as the flow #'s they are available on TEA's website. I am just trying to educate myself on what would work best for my setup and my driving habits(primarily street use). Whichever head will perform the best given my setup. If I need to swap out my cam while I am doing the head swap I would be more than happy to. I just need a little guidance on putting the setup together.
