Default My AFR 205/Pat G cam build

Here's a collection of pics from the H/C swap I've been doing the past 2 weeks. I also put on an UD pulley and the CAI. Coming from stock this should be quite the jump once I get it tuned and dynoed in a couple weeks. Through the stock Ti muffler, ORX, and LT's it's pretty tame at idle with a definite lope to it. The AFRs were milled to 62cc on 0.040" cometics and a Patrick G spec'd cam. The cam doctor shows it to be about 232/237 0.614" 0.619" on a 113+4 with LSL lobes. I'll post again once I get SOTP and dyno results.

Intake and new Powerbond pulley is on:


Waterpump, radiator, fans, power steering, Halltech CAI and steering rack installed - just waiting for the pushrods to be delivered at this point.


All buttoned up


Looks pretty stock unless you're looking at the front of the head.


I'm shooting for 440RWHP and 400+RWTQ on the LS6 intake and ported TB. I know stepping up to a 90/90 or more would be very beneficial in this case but that's further down the road. I need back tires first and I'm sure a new clutch will be in order soon too

interested in selling those 243's? I grew up in marysville not too far from ya. I need a donor set to ship off to TEA for some work to be done.

Good job on the H/C install. I still think you will make more than 440rwhp though.

I will be putting them up for sale as soon as I put the intake valves back in the driver's side head (took them out to use my in-head piston cutter for flycutting. Probably won't be ready for anything until after the 4th. I grew up in Lenexa and my parents live in Overland Park. I'll actually be up there the weekend of 7/17 to dyno at MC Racing. Heads have 30K miles and looking to get around $450.

That would be nice but I'm keeping my goals low with the LS6 intake and ported TB. Better to be pleasantly surprised than disappointed when you don't meet your goal!

The internet now has people thinking they need a FAST to make anything over 430 .

That combo should be good for 450rwhp with the stock intake/TB if all the parts act right and the tune is done well. I've been doing 440-460 with LS6 intakes for 6 years now.

Good luck with it. Very clean install!

Yeah i guess thats true. I am looking to make around 420rwhp with my H/C combo and if I don't make it I have a nitro daves plate kit to make up the difference lol.

I agree you'll be over the 450 mark. Im at 425 RWHP with the same set up on a 228R cam

If you buy a fast 90/90 set up from vengence, becareful. My was port like crap and "fell through the cracks" im told

Very impressive wrenching man !!! Can't wait to see your results. I am sure they will be very good. The best thing is that a Vengeance Ported FAST 92 is available for even more power when you want it !!

Nice build! I did the same thing..started with LS6 intake then went to the FAST 90/90 ported by Mamo. Every H/C car needs a FAST!

Only when I am not F'ing your mom! J/K with you bro. Sorry that you are confusing my enthusiasm for a successful venture with Vengeance with Nutswinging.
To the OP: Was there any consideration of using a Meziere EWP ? Just wondering since you were in there and are so good with doing installs?

Could be worth a few more hp and improved fuel economy too. Had mine on since 2006 and no issues in case you have any concerns about durability. That includes multiple trips to and from Detroit to Dallas and one trip to Atlanta (Cumming, GA) and back. No issues. The Georgia heat was unbearable last week. The Meziere ewp had no issues at all keeping her cool. Damn good bolt on.
