Picked up the sending unit and socket tonight....took 15 minutes to swap it out......
And there was a slight increase shown in pressure...nothing major. The old one was without any external damage.
Once I get a bit more time, I'll snap some shots..

Thisw is going to sound stupid but I need to ask this to get a clear picture in my mind. Was the oil pressure higher when you got the car as compaired to now? If so, when did you first notice the pressure to drop? Did you get the car during this last years cool winter months and now that it is melting out side you noticed the oil pressure is low or did you also have it last year during the hot summer months but the oil pressure was higher then? I am trying to figure out just how heat related this issue is and form a timeline. If you have had the car for a few summers and now this year the pressure has dropped off then I would say you have a REAL issue on your hands. If you picked it up in the last 6 months or so and this is your first summer with it, then it could just be the way the car is, no way to realy tell. Do you drive mostly in city traffic were the asphalt is blazing or in a smaller comunity were the rode has less heat in it from traffic? I have noticed with my car, the oil pressure will run noticably higher here in the small town I live in as apposed to when I go to Odessa were the traffic is 20 times worse then here and it takes at least 30 minutes in stop and go traffic to get across town. The only way for our cars to dissapate heat from the oil is out the oil pan. I have often woundered why GM did not put oil coolers on these cars, they realy need it.

One thing to keep ur oil psi higher is to have ur fans kick on at 185 when ur thermo opens. my engine now rarely gets over 185 and i live in 115+ days in city.

For all this dang work it better!! This turbo build is more expensive and labor intensive then I thought in the begining. I thought I would go cheep and build it all my self. I like how it is coming out but I tell you what, if I had it all to do over again I would have bought the hot side front mount turbo kit off of ebay for 750 bones instead of my rear mount DIY set up I am doing. I still have to up grade my fuel system (again!!!) and pull the engine to modify my oil pan for the oil return line (why I did not do that before I installed the engine 2 months agao I have no idea!!!). Here is my advice to all..... even though you do not need it now, go ahead and get the best fuel system out there that will support 1500hp. I have over the years upgraded my fuel system 3 times now. Each time I bought a fuel system only good enough for what I was doing at the time.

Thanks, sorry to hear this didnt help you. i think im gonna give it a shot though. My motor has 140+k and a brand new mellings pump. My oil psi gauge flutters around at idle and potentially seems like i should replace it. So sounds like a quick easy thing to try.
