Default Rocker Advice

Ok let me get it out of the way yes the stock rockers are great I know this. But I want to lighten the load on my heads a little more.

Now I am broken between the

Comp LS1 Ultra-Gold 1.82
Yella Terra Ultra Lite 1.8
Harland Sharp 1.8

Any of these will release more HP up to 30hp.....ahem...advertised lol. I have the Comp "R" lifters and Comp 7.3 pushrods. Because of the new lifters I had to go down to 7.3 pushrod from a 7.4. My question is since the lifters are new (5K) miles I know that I wont have to change them or the rods;

Which rocker has any of you seen best results with, longevity, least amount of issues.(i.e. maintenance)

Cam specs 232/238 600/600
@ 1.82 I'll be at 642 lift
@ 1.8 I'll be at 635

Second Dilemma;

I have the Patriot Gold Dbl. Springs rated at .650 and I like to keep my spring rate .050 more than my max lift.

What would be a good dbl spring rated @ .700 lift never used one that high in the scale before.

Oh before I forget I am using Elliot Port Works Stage II 241's with 59cc chambers 11.5:1 if you all need more info let me know.

thanks

as far as the springs go, TSP just redesigned thier PRC line to go to .700" lift. Its all new material, new everything, and ive heard nothing but good about it so far. check out thier website for a package that comes with the springs and titanium retainers

I have been running the PRC Duals from TSP on my .643"/.646 Lift cam, never had a problem with them, going to keep running them on my new cam going in this week.

I would go with the YT Ultralite 1.8 with the PRC springs either .660 or .700.

im still on a stock rocker, not really high on my upgrade list right now either, so im not alot of help on that subject. i will say though that most of the info that i know about them comes from the two threads in the sticky at the top of this page. they're lengthy but very in depth about comparisons between HS and YT

I thought the Comp R's require an adjustable rocker as the preload is 0.002" - 0.004". None of the rockers listed are adjustable so I would say none of the above. This is from Comp: "Note: Adjustable valve train required, preload to .002”-.004” w/
engine warm"

That's why I had to go down to the 7.3 rod length. The 7.4 would have made it impossible to adjust. If I keep the same rod size I can stay with the 1.7 rocker size, even after market, and go down if I have to 7.2 for the 1.8 rockers. There is always more than one way to skin a cat.

Just get the Comp 850 lifters. Shorter pushrods are not your answer.

My brother just put on Comps Ultra golds on his Camaro and they are non adjustable. I dont know if the others are or not.

Well i can do the the Yella Terra 6638 or Harland Sharp SLS17. they are both adjustable or 850 lifters, new rods 7.4", leaving the stock rockers and putting on the new LS1 comp rocker arm trunion upgrade. I think the trunion upgrade is going to be done regardless.
