will bigger cam be worth it
i will be replacing my lifters here this next week or two due to a horrible valve train clatter. not sewing machine noise just loud. anyways i will be replaceing with comp cams replacement lifters and was wondering i currently have a tr230/224 and put down 358/362 and love the car. im just wondering if it is worth it to go up to a polluter or ms3/4. will i make close to 400hp. if so i think it would be worth it. all other supporting bolt ons are there. (ls6 intake, roller rockers,pacesetters,ory,magnaflow,4.10 and 3600 stall. if there wont be a big difference i would rather put the money towards a new trans and 12bolt. thanks in advance.

What heads are you running? I think while a MS3/4 will work with stock heads, it's kinda big for stock heads. Remember it's about power under the curve and the right cam for your car, not just peak numbers

i know. i just want to make more power without breaking the bank. i am running stock 241's. i just figure if im going this far i might as well unless i will make less. im not really worried about dyno #'s just want the car to run its *** off. anyone else?

the converter was locked. im not complaining about the power. i just have horrible valvetrain noise. i dont know if it is me being to worried about it or if it is normal. just drives me nuts. so new lifters are going in. it looks like you have heads to. mine are just stock 241

there are several people on here making 400rwhp or close with autos and that cam...I hope to be a lot closer once I'm dyno tuned instead of mail order
if it's not trashed I would keep the cam and spend the money to see about a better tune

Unless you are looking for a max effort cam setup, the MS3 or 4 probably wouldn't be my first choice. That being said, with the gear and converter you have, they would probably work pretty well at the track. However, if you are looking at something more daily driver friendly, I would look into something along the lines of a Torquer v.3 camshaft. You might also take a look at putting on a set of heads while you have them off and leave the cam in the car. I think that would probably end up being your best bang for the buck. We could set you up with some PRC 2.5 5.3L heads or even a Stg.1 LS6 head. Both would compliment the current cam nicely. Let us know if we can help!
