Cam timing question! What is my tolerance?

Cam timing question! What is my tolerance?

Ok so im degreeing my cam right now and i found it to be at 110.25* ICL. The cam is to be installed at 111* ICL per the cam card. Now i know there are times were you can have + or - 1*. Is this the case?
Any advice is appreciated

you are good. If you zero out and remeasure, you might get 111 on the dot LOL

I went back and tried again and i got 110.5

hmmmmmm

You are fine, less than 1* is pretty much spot on.

unless you have a hellish big diameter wheel...I don't know how you can distinguish 1/4 of a degree.
Generally if it's out of whack by 3 or 4 degrees...I would dial it in...otherwise call it good.

Does your card have valve events at .050 listed? Like JPH said this is better checking point. Asymmetrical lobes will change the c/l reading

How would you do this? I ask because I honestly don't know (I just degreed mine a few weeks ago using the ICL from max intake lift +/- 0.050"). I have a cam doctor printout that lists all the info for the cam as ground.
