look up the el torro specd by pred z its a 230/230 .612/.598 cam has worked well for many people. I would also get a ls2 chain, and a new oil pump along with springs, locks, retainers, puchrods, and a gasket/bolt kit.

I did my h/c swap with 115k miles on the car. You'll be fine as long as you replace any wear parts like stated above as you do the build. The TR224 is a good street cam. Many people use it. You'd even like the TR 228R cam. Just depends what you want out of it.

anybody have any info on the T-Rex cam??? How street firendly is it? at what point will the stock rockers need to be changed with a cam? i know a guy with 00 WS6 m6 car with ls6 intake, lid, full exhaust and T-rex cam made 421hp at the wheels! does that seem high to anyone for a cam only car?? maybe not..maybe its a good cam tho

T-rex might be a bit too large for what you want, I run the 228R from texas speed. Great powerband from 3k to 6700, idles great with the 112 lsa. Has a nice lope to it and driveability is awesome. You would see around 35-40 hp for this cam.

We've seen tons of higher mileage cars get camshafts. I wouldn't let the mileage stop you from having a blast with the car. What converter are you currently running? this is a very important question. Also what power range are you looking to make power in? This will help us to use data we've put together from testing different camshafts to help spec you out the best possible camshaft for you application.

Also checkout my recent threads with different camshafts in the same engine for dyno testing. This will help you see power output from different durations to help make your choice easier!

First person in the thread to mention converter, and you took the words out of my mouth. Converters and cams go together like peas and carrots
