Default compcams lsr 227/235 113 lsa VS. streetsweeper HT 228/232 111lsa

hey guys,

Im from Australia. i have a VU SS which is basically the ute version of the gto u guys have over there with an ls1 in it. im looking at 2 medium sized cams just wondering if anyone has any idea how these 2compare? I think on the compcams website the 227/235 has a rpm range of 1900-7000 and the streetsweeper ht prob runs similar - would both run almost identicle or would the lsr cam hav the wider torque curve?

planning to complement the setup with the following:
3600 lock up stall though may go bigger if needed.
3.9 diff gears
stock heads cnc'd

thanks.

Gav

The Steetsweeper has better valve events and will have better undercurve. Slightly easier on the valvetrain as well

I definately think the 111 camshaft would be a better bet by comparing the two of them. Let me throw another camshaft into your list just for grinds. We have a new 229/236 .620/.617 111+3 that we developed off engine dyno testing. I think that camshaft would work very well for you. It uses TSP intake lobe & a XFI exhaust lobe. I've dyno tested it next to a bunch of similar duration camshafts & it's worked very well for us. I have a few I used for dyno testing you could buy from us for a discounted price!!!

care to share a graph? when are you going to be posting up more comparisons like you did with 224 lobes?

So far I LOVE my streetsweeper 228/232 on a 111. It's a beast and pulls like crazy!

Default wow thanx

wow,

thanks for the replies guys.

Predator Z,

that was the kind of info I was looking for. I couldn't tell just by looking at durations, lsa and overlap.

Jason,

that cam looks interesting could you show some more data?

Ed,

thanks I'll shoot them an email.
A lot of people seem pretty happy with this cam - thanks again for chiming in.

cheers guys.
