i really dont know not my car/engine,i just pulled it out took it apart.they have a orange color on the spring.top of spring broke and dropped the valve.retaner and keepers are in good shape.

its my car, they are dart springs out of the box...AFAIK
setup was dart 205's torquer 2 cam, HS rockers, TSP pushrods, stock bottom end.
time to go lq9 408
edit: why in the hell is there so much carbon build up ? anyone have any ideas?

The retainers looks completely different, they also look like they are steel and maybe even stock retainers. They don't fit well either. Did you get these heads straight from a vendor?
To the OP:
I looked up the cam specs. Per the way my Dart's were set up, you were very very close to coil bind. I would suggest you remove the other springs and get a valve spring micrometer and check the installed height.

I'll do that for sure, what is the procedure to measuring installed height?
guess I got hosed big time from this clown...should have known better but live and learn.
