sounds like you are kinda in the same boat as me.. I would say what is your goal hp wise to make etc...

If you did a 408 I would get something more like the fast 90/90 manifold and a set of afr heads or trick flow heads. If you are going to putthe money into a 408 why not get the best you can?

We've got great pricing on the 408 rotating assemblies as well as assembled 408 short-blocks!

Let us know if we can help!

if you are going to build a 408, you are really going to be choking it through ported 243's and an ls6 intake. there has been a few people to make power out of something like that, but not many at all, mostly because its nowhere near its potential. if you are on a tight budget, then i see why youd go that route. if not, there are people making 520+ regularly now . big heads, big cam and a (ported) FAST combo up top is almost a must. let the big cubes breath and itll pay ya back

Default 408 build

its gonna be a tight budget but if i can find a good set of heads for a reasonable price i will probably go that route but i am definitely staying with the ls6 intake for now i wont have money to get a fast 90 set up

Look in the August edition of GM hightech (if you have it). They have a bad *** writeup on a budget 408. They used a K-1 stroker crank, K-1 rods, and Wiseco pistons I believe.
