Default 918 comp cam springs

whats the max lift on the 918 springs will it be able to take a .615 lift?

It depends on what install height the springs were set. That spring has a coil bind height of 1.100" and you should have a minimum of .060" clearance before coil bind. So if you do the math: 1.100 + .060 + .615 = 1.775". If you install height is 1.775" or taller, you should be able to run that spring with .615" lift.

i thought the comp 918 were able to hold up to a .600 lift?

I believe they are rated to .625 now. I would run any cam about .590 and up on a double spring personally.

IMO you are pushing it.......I would run some duals or a PAC1518 if you want a beehive....

You need more seat and open pressure with that much lift....run a dual spring for better results and more peace of mind.

If a single spring breaks (and they do break) you will be SOL and potentially looking at a complete rebuild if you drop a valve.....its never pretty when that happens.
