Not everone is saying (or implying) the same thing. Whom do you trust?

You might not get the BOTB (not battle of the bands) posting on this site too often.

I, personally, question the wisdom of an 'efficient small port with high airspeed being the KEY'. Define an "efficient" port so we are all on the same page.

FWIW, are we talking average velocity in the port or velocity at some specific points in the port or what? If not average, then where do you want the high velocity? Perhaps more importantly, why?

Pardon my ignorance, but.....

Do cylinder head machinists typically add material to the ports?

No, Ed was being ironic

Some porters weld chambers to reshape or diminish its volume without milling and therefore keeping its piston to valve clearance close to stock (6.0 castings). But that is less and less practiced unless in specific applications. (mainly due to 243/799 castings costing much less than initial LS6 243s). Patriot was such company.

Being from SoCal myself I've been looking at the TR CheatR packages

AFR 205's milled to 62cc and your choice of 3 cams the cams are also good for FI & NOS. p&p your TB or go with a FAST system for added gains later. You can also get all supporting mods LS7 lifters, springs good for .650, ported oil pump etc.
