Default Lifters for an MS4

I priced a new set of GM LS1 lifters and they were $518 at employee price (my dad works for GM). I called JEGS and they said that the only lifters they showed for an LS1 were OEM style from COMP that are $199.99. Would those be the best ones to go with or do you know one that's around that price that's better?

GM replaced the original LS1 lifters with an LS7 style lifter, part number 17122490 that lists full price at my dealership for $148.57 for a set of 16. Online I paid $121.88 shipped.

I'd have your dad start work at a different dealership!

LS7 lifters are more than enough and really good pieces (sometimes underestimated)

The Caddy Race Lifters I bought about 6 months ago were $246.00

For the 518 you were quoted you could get a nice set of morels.

Not me.. I looked into these and saw lots of guys having trouble. A happy LS7 user here... Morels would be my first choice on a hydraulic. Comp makes a nice product too. These lifters are not nearly as friendly to setup pre load so better make sure they are dead nuts on specs...

BTW Lunatis are said to be reboxed Morels and are usually a little less $$$....
