I wouldn't worry to much about it. If the tune is spot on and err'd to the safe side like you said, then it's all good. As for the ethanol vs non, I've tried both and I see about a 20 mile increase when I run non ethanol. I had mine tuned with 91 10% junk since it's what all but 2 station in the Norman area I live in have. I run the same fuel when on the juice.

Thanks for the info.
I cut at Altus at the beginning of this summer on harvest, we were there for 3 weeks. If i recall i think i saw at least one station that had 93, i'm pretty sure it was the one cati-corner from the chevrolet dealership, but i can't remember what it was. It is relatively close to base.

I remember where the chevy dealership is. Yeah, its just down the street from the base gate. I think theres a Shell station at that corner. That would be great if it had 93 octane!

Gauging performance by the seat-dyno is stupid.
Say what you want but I have seen ZERO negative side effect from running 87. The only effect is leaving power on the table which I'm also doin untuned. I have pulled & checked plugs & they are fine after 2yrs of daily driving. If 87 was soooo bad as your tryin to claim I would know by now 2yrs later. I also had minimal carbon build up on the tops of my pistons when we tore it down @ 100k miles for the H/C swap. And at that point I was also running 87 & had been for about 40k miles since buying the car. But yea, it's sooo bad.

And my mileage is usually up about 80 miles per tank give or take since the switch. It can vary between 70-80 depending on how I drive that week. If it's rainy outside I drive more conservatively so as not to wreck my car, but if its nice out I give her hell.

As for the seat-dyno, LOL. Sorry I noticed a difference in how my car responds now. Guess I should just ignore how the car drives since it wasnt tested on a dyno huh? LOL, what a joke.

Dont try callin BS on me for something you know nothing about. I have no reason to lie about my results & people on here who know me know I dont lie.

I'll hear **** over this but I run basic 87 w/o ethonol in mine & have no issues. I'll throw a tank of 91 in if I'm goin to the track, but for my daily driving I run 87. But I refuse to buy ethonol gas, I picked up power & MPG switching to non-ethonol.
Hey man, where in tulsa do they still have 93? I thought all of that was gone by now..

Last I heard there was a Shell station on the corner of 41st & Yale by the mall & out another out by the port. I'll ask a couple other local guys for ya that will know 100% for sure. Before our local board tanked we had a thread with all locations/address of the stations in town.

Sweet, do these places have that ethanol stuff mixed in with it or is it 100% gas?

Hmmmmm, unless they pulled it from those stations since our board went down I'm lost. But since I dont drive around lookin for it I have never worried about it. I got a few people I sent messages to in effort to get the needed info.

insider info. qt no longer has ethanol. they keep the stickers up for the purpose of that, they cannot regulate what residue is still in the tankers from the ethanol. thats why they say, "may" contain up to x amount of ethanol.

Oh really? I wonder if the ethanol **** that was in their gas was running up their cost of repairing cars that it screwed up. Remember that "guaranteed gasoline" campaign they ran awhile ago stating that if their gas damaged your car they would repair it?

If this is true that would be cool. But I'm not holdin my breath. I found out the little habeeb(sp?) store by my work also has 100% gas & they have 91 on pump. It's in Pine between Memorial & Sheridan.

Also was told all 93 is now gone from Tulsa. If we can get it to work with 91 then you either mix some race gas in or run E85. So I guess they pulled the last few pumps since our local board closed. That sucks.

I just don't see how 10% ethanol would do any harm to anyones car. Unless it doesn't run right with a carb.

Also I have been running 100% gas this week to see if it burnt more gas and my mpg is the same no change.

Most N/A cars I don't see it of being a problem either. However, boosted cars (like my Z28 in my sig) could see possible catastrophic issues with using gas that has >10% ethanol in it.

I don't see you having any issues running 91 and if you do just use an octane booster. Now 87 is a different story. Ran it in my car for a day and it ran like **** so I would not recommend it at all for even a stock car.

Don't know that octane booster will be readily available out in the boonies of Altus. I'm sure I could "stock up" on it from elsewhere if need be.

I am hoping you are correct though in that I should not need it, and it will run fine on 91. Perhaps I'll end up lucky in that there is indeed a local gas station that offers 93.

Don't the octane boosters in a bottle only really give you a couple tenths of a point in octane?

Ya know I hear this from people all the time but I have never once had a single issue with running 87. Never caused the car to not drive like normal or anything. Everyone thats rode in it said it felt strong & then when I tell them I run 87 their jaw drops, LOL. I dont understand how I'm the only one running it without having any issues at all from it.

^ Not sure either as everyone I've seen run 87 in the LT1 or LS1 ran like sh*t. I believe you though.
