From what I know about the two cams; going to the MS4 you would probably lose alot of your low end and have to spin it much much higher, but your 4.10 gears would help with that.
IMO I would sell the PRC heads and take that money and have your 243's ported by TEA but thats just me. I think you would make alot more power the the TEA 243's.
JaSSon went high 10's with ported 243's and the TR230 cam.
I am putting in the TR230 cam w/ TEA ported 5.3 1.5 heads w/ LS6 intake, L/T headers, then going to spray 100 shot on top of that.
Keep us updated.

Im not usually a fan of big cams, not at all. My last cam was a 226/230 .609/.588 and I could not have been happier. This time I called Predator Z to spec me a cam. He recommended I go with something abit larger to suite my stall, gear and frequent drag strip use. He recommended a 240/244. So not all big cams are a bad thing, but ide likelly talk to someone like Pat G or Predator and see what they had to say.

thanks alot guys . i just dont like the reverse split cam i dont think it pulls as hard as it should. i just want more power. a guy had a set of prc 2.5 5.3 heads and ms4 cam for i thot maybe it would be a good route i want to bump the compression up i think its a smart way of making more power seeing i want to keep the 346 in there it only has 4,000 miles tops on it

I made the swap from a TR230 to the MS4 with stock heads. The TR230 pulled harder to about 5000 RPM when the MS4 would start to come on strong. For a street car that sees some track time my vote is for the TR230, but for a track only car I would go MS4(but not with stock heads). The heads and compression ratio will play a huge role in the performance you see from the large cam. If you have a stock shortblock you will need to cut valve reliefs in the pistons to get the CR high enough, mill the heads to 57/58cc and run an 0.040 thick gasket. If you don't want to cut the pistons then stick with the TR230 and have the LS6 heads worked over as stated above. I can promise you with stock compression cam vs. cam my TR230 walked all over the MS4 and was much more fun to drive. It's all in the combination.

I would go with ported heads instead of cam swap because you are DD this car.
My car is not a DD but I really like the powerband it has; no loss and start pulling from 3000-6400. I want the high hp numbers too, but I'm not sure a big *** cam is gonna give me the nice powerband I'm always into;2000-5000...Plus I made some road trip with my car and it likes to ride the highway at 1800-2200 in 6th without any bugs. Plus it loves the 150shot LOL. My car has a forged 347 though.
But I have stock 3:42 and wont go any bigger than 3:73 because its a street/weekend warrior car.

thanks so much guys i had the 243 tr230 fast 90 90 pacesetters , underdriver pully and qtp y pipe . when i sprayed it kicked in at 3,000 and i had to stop at 3800 rpm for the steam and i was at 524fpt with a 100 shot it blew a head gasket and i found that small coolant leak i had every now and thanks to the nitrous but first of the year i should have it back together and am heading back down to the magic man bluecat for round two , big thumbs up for him not making me clean up the vomit my car left behind in his garage.
