Looks like you rotated slightly past but the dot to dot alignment is OK. If you were off a tooth it would be very noticeable.

Looks good to me. Just make sure you're on the intake stroke TDC & not the exhaust stroke TDC. Also, can get rid of the slack w/ a chain dampner. I know that GM Pace performance sells them & probably Tech sponsors, as well. A dampner will also eliminate chain snap.

The chain is on there tight but not overly tight, it has a little bit of play in it if that makes sense. Im pretty sure its good.

With no timing chain, the crank has no intake or exhaust TDC. Its simply TDC. But for reference, if, after the chain was installed, he was to put the motor at exhaust TDC, the cam dot would be at 12 o clock. The difference between intake and exhaust TDC is the cam, not the crank.

Cam 6, Crank 12 = Intake TDC
Cam 12, Crank 12= Exhaust TDC

So, why assume that I meant otherwise?

What Im saying is, if you read my post is: If the cam is at 6 oclock (which it is we know from the photo), then its the intake TDC. There is no way it could be the exhaust TDC as you so carefully warned of.....
