Default Need some help

Ok was racing my car last weekend on spray. went to hit 3rd gear and the car fell on its face real bad. lost all power and died. it will start right up but runs very very rough and idles at like 300-400. not really responsive to the throttle. the night it happened we found a tube had blew off and had a hole in it. the tube went from the TB to the back of the engine somewhere. replaced that tube and still no difference. I have tr6 plugs, changed them. they all look fine and still no change. Any ideas? next step is to take to tuner to hook it up. anything else could check?

What tube? PVC hose? Did you have a back fire? Kinda sounds like a vac leak. When I installed my blower I finaly got burned not changing the intake manifold gaskets. It wouldn't idle for ****, and throttle response was awful.

well I am not sure what tube it was. goes into the back of the TB and runs all the way to the rear of the engine. I guess I could have had a backfire, but it was in the upper rpms. dont backfires happen right when its activated? I sprayed starting fluid around the intake last night to check for leaks and nothing......

TB to the back of the engine on the passenger side is the PCV lines.

Time for a compression test. You can do it yourself, just buy the gauge for around $20 and check each cylinder.

+1 Compression test, and leakdown, that'll give you some info atleast to see if the motor is alright. You can rent the compression tester tool for free from Autozone, thats what I did. If everything checks out, sounds like a vacuum leak.

well, I have the compression tester here. Will do that today. but I got my hands on a code reader. even though there is no check engine light I ran the codes and it had two pending po171 and po174. lean in both banks.

I would check over everything real close to see if something else blew off.Check all hoses for leaks, and make sure they are connected. There is a map sensor that plugs into the back of the intake manifold next to the oil pressure sender that might have blown out also. Its hard to see without a mirror.
