Can you guys recommend a cam for me?
Ok so my block is done at the machine shop, I have my pistons, rods & crank and the heads should be here the end of next week.
Here is what I got:
Fresh Iron LQ4/LQ9 block bored to 4.030
Foraged flattop Mahle pistons (-4.0cc valve reliefs) (aprox. 10.5:1 with milled heads)
Stock LS1 crank
Stock LS1 Rods
Balanced rotating asy.
PRC LS3/L92 heads W/ PRC .650" springs
ARP 2000 rod studs
ARP head studs
GM gasket set
4bbl carb intuction
I was reading that article in hot rod mag when they tested 4 cams on a 6.0L with the L98 heads and carb .VS EFI I liked the results they got with a crane cams XR275HR-12 cam. I don't know how that cam specs out, I am just wondering if there are any more options out there that compare to the crane peice.
They got 520HP on the engine dyno, I'd like to do the sam or better and keep the thing fairly streetable / reliable

Street / road course , 6-speed car and all motor with a little nitrous, maybe 150shot, I'm using stock rods.
I have heard of this Pat G before, is that a person, screen name or shop?

Seach Patrick G (Patrick Guerrero is his name) He doesn't post on here much or at all anymore. Kinda weird cause he used to be a mod. Here is athread he started...https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...heads-cam.html Can prolly find him at hardcore ls1. predator-z knows his **** too and you can find him on here still....

If you are wanting to do road coarse, you are gonna want a good mid range cam, i would recommend doing something on in the 22x duration... You should check out the tsp torquer 2, That cam responds great with nitrous as well!

Unless I am mistaken this is what I was able to find about that cam 222/224 - .566/.568. 112LSA
If that is the case that is fairly average and would give you good streetablilty. I am not sure you would attain those HP numbers though.
As I am sure you know Crane is out of business, so the best bet is to find the same specs from another manufacturer.
Isky is local to us and we can get them custom cut or you can pick from their standard lobes. I will have a comp cams account here shortly.
Take a look here http://www.autopartsfirmonline.com/c...lhr2c6pc6js0u4
The HR-741/HR-671 would give you a 221/224 .575/.578 on whatever LSA you want.
On a cam only LS1 I run a 233/236 with no reliability problems and make good power on my DD (424 RWHP)
