Default ls1 cam retainer plate

I see people selling these used, can they be put on an engine used, is there a seal that gets changed out. Does it even need to seal 100%

They are fine to get used.

ok thanks , i didnt know if that seal on the back was to seal a oil gallie or something and a used one might leak

Yes, the seal does seal the cam oil gallery. If you go used, be careful.

we reused the one on the ls2 we just did a cam swap on with zero issues

One thing to note, if you have an LS1/6 with the original cam retainer plate, the new replacement uses countersunk screws. I have a thread on this when I got mine as there was no information on the plate when I received it. Here is the link: Link
