Default Sanity check my engine build... anything I'm missing?

Trying to get this all planned before I start talking with the assembler who will be doing the shortblock. Tell me if I'm missing anything any of you can think of to get this thing done.

The goal is to have a really stompy engine, that is still emissions legal for Colorado.

Texas Speed or A.I.R. 383 Assembled Short Block
Code:
Wiseco -3cc Forged Pistons (steel top/napier second ring)
Bore: 3.903”
Deck: 0
Eagle 6.125” H-Beam with ARP 2000 Rod Bolts
Callies CompStar Crank
Stroke: 4”
ARP Main Stud kit
24x Reluctor wheel (using LS1 PCM)
Trick Flow 215cc Heads
Code:
64cc chambers
13.5” intake/exhaust angle.
Intake Valve: 2.04”
Exhaust Valve: 1.575”
Spring: 1.300” dual (good for .600 lift). - Comp gold.
Valve Locks: 7 degree
Intake Runner: 215cc
Exhaust runner: 80cc.
FelPro 1041 Head Gasket
Code:
Gasket Bore: 4.135
Compressed Volume: 9.4cc
Compressed Thickness: .041
Custom Cam by PG
Code:
Comp Cams Make
226/226 115LSA .600ish lift.
Yella Terra Rocker Arms
Code:
1.7:1 Ratio
American Racing Headers Longtubes
Code:
Catted-Y
1 7/8" Primaries
Ported Fast 92mm Intake
Ported 92mm Throttle Body
94mm Lid
Comp Cams Fuel Rail
Racetronix 42# Fuel Injectors
Walboro 255L/hr Fuel Pump
Custom Pushrods (based on final cam specs)
Cadillac Racing CTS-V Lifters
Stock Water Pump
Ported LS6 Oil Pump
Stock Coil Packs
NGK TR55 Sparkplugs (.38) or NG5 (.5)
Oil Pan.

Anything I'm missing that I need to think about or get?

Looks like a nice list, but I would use the factory head gasket if you are using the factory block.

I must ask why you say this?

Obviously, the thinner .041 gasket will give a tighter quench vs a GM MLS at ~.054, which I'm sure you know why a tight quench is beneficial.

I ran an aftermarket set of gaskets (cometic .040s) for nearly 3 years at 11.34-1 and also sprayed the car. I only had stock GM head bolts and even after the #7 ring land went and blew out the entire side of that piston, I still had perfect seal on the head gaskets.

So please, share your reasoning behind this suggestion.

I picked the gasket to reach a certain SCR, and thus a certain DCR given the cam closing. Is there a reason you'd go with stock?

I am assuming the aluminum block, this leaves the energized portion of the fire ring sitting on the thin section of the sleeve instead of the strong section near the sleeves column. If you run a smaller bore cometic or deck the block for the proper piston/head clearance you need you will end up sitting on the stronger portion of the sleeve. You could also look for a piston with the right cd, but that seems less likely as the shelf pistons seem to all run down the bore a bit for a wider fit ability.

That cam is pretty small for a 383 any reason why you don't want a bigger cam?

Very Similer to my 383 build, except mine is an Iron block and i decided on TR227 Xtreme cam though 227-227 .639lift 116lsa, TD Shaft rockers, mines a BA Truck motor though, i also went with wiseco's -8cc, You will have one awesome Power band to 6000rpm!
