titanium retainers - educate me please

Default titanium retainers - educate me please

I see that lots of people use titanium retainers, but I can't seem to find exactly why. I would assume that they are lighter than stock retainers, but what advantage does that give you??

I'm guessing the lighter weight makes it easier on the valvetrain, but are there any other performance gains.

Less moving weight helps the car rev up quicker. Compare a stock retainer to a titanium one sometime if you get the chance, stock ones are much heavier. Every little bit helps...

Having a lighter titanium retainer really helps more in allowing a motor to rev higher before going into valve float. As far as helping the motor to spin up quicker, I think this would be barely noticible, having a lighter bottom end would help in this area the most.

Are the Ti retainers actually any stronger? I'm sure their ductile strength is higher, but what about failure points?

Titanium is stronger, Im not how much but, we are using it to armor vehicles with and it takes less to stop the same size round as standard steel armor would

the main reason for using titanium is too keep the valve train on the camshaft when using high lifts too keep the valve from floating and hitting the piston,580-590 not much room for mistakes!!
