About to do a cam swap, am I missing anything?
I'm getting ready to do a cam swap and I want to make sure I'm not forgetting something and make sure I've made some smart choices. This is all based on my reading through searches I've done on the topic.
First the car is a full bolt on 2000 A4 with a performabuilt 4l60e and a 3400 RPM stall. Nitrous will be used. Rear end is stock with 3.23s
The cam I've picked is the Thunder Racing 230/224 .575/.563 111 LSA
I didn't want a cam I had to spin to the moon, and I wanted something that wasn't going to require that I swap out my converter. Also wanted something with a good lope to it. Did I make the right decision?
I think I'm going to get the Comp 918 springs and 7.4" pushrods from TR as a kit as well. For other supporting mods I'm thinking an OEM LS6 oil pump and LS2 Timing chain on stock gears (only 25k on them). Reusing stock retainers and seals.
Knowing my plans, am I on the right track with all of this?
Also will I need a tune immediately or can I drive it a month or so without one?

I previously installed a TR224 and I was over due on replacing the valve springs.
This weekend I swapped out the old blue stripes(918) for a new set of 918s.
Dont forget you need a spring compressor tool and if you have the time use a tool to pressurize the cylinder when swapping out springs. You could just use the TDC method but it can make installation of the spring locks a bit frustrating. Oh the #8 !!!
LS1howto.com for reference....good luck.
