are you m6 or a4? ls6firebird is right, go through a company like Thunder Racing, Texas-Speed and some others to get a cam package. new gaskets, sealant, a longer bolt for puttin your old crank back on or puttin a U/D pulley on, new coolant, new oil, new spark plugs (if needed) and a tune and you should be good

You may want to pick another hobby. When it comes to internal f-body modifications, nothing is cheap. If you are working with limited funds, I would suggest reading ww.ls1howto.com so that you understand what parts and tools are required to do a cam swap and then make a budget to see the true cost. Outside of parts (cam, springs, seals, retainers, locks, pushrods and gaskets) you need to account for fluids (oil & coolant), tools that you need (pulley puller, spring compressor, wrenches, sockets, longer crank bolt, tool to lock flywheel if you don't want to use a srew driver) shop supplies (thread locker, anti-seive, shop towels, etc.). In summary, there is alot involved and the costs add up fast, so be prepared if you are working with limited funds. I was suprised how much I spent doing my cam swap, it just all adds up.

I got my cam package and gaskets from TSP and was really happy with their quality and customer service. My only complaint was that everything had to be shipped to my credit card mailing address not my work, so I got alot of greif when I came home from work one day.

Haha... Agreed. Do not skimp on parts man, i made that same mistake and learned the hard way, after 1,500 miles i was tearing down a TRASHED block. Save your money and do it right.

I agree, parts for these engines aren't cheap, at all! That's a good price for the cam swap package. Plus, Texas Speed's parts are great quality. Skipping on quality can lead to major problems later on in the future. Do it right the first time and enjoy your ride.
