Default engine stutters between 40 and 60mph

jus got a new p&P throttle body and had everything tuned in by Frost
when i get on the throttle a bit going 40-60 the engine almost seems to stutter (for lack of a better way to describe it)

any idea as to what that could be?

EDIT: it almost feels like the transmission isn't engaging that gear quick enough, if i go into it softly i get no problems, but as stated, under any kind of throttle it stutters

also, at WOT past about 70, i got several backfires it sounded like.... any ideas on that?

Check your spark plugs. Or at least the connections. Those NGK's are good for about 15,000 miles. At Least thats what they tell me at the parts store

You also might have a vacumm leak somewhere. Check all the hoses, including at the back of the intake. Are you running any codes??

i checked all the wires ( jus took them off and put them back on)
i didnt have the time to check the plugs themselves, but the wires on all on, what seems to be correct, and the problem is still there... it gets rough and stutters between 47-55mph

It could be your torque converter not being able to lock up properly. Misfires can force the pcm to unlock the converter. Did you install an aftermarket torque converter?

no i havent installed an aftermarket TC. the popular vote seems to be a misfire. how do i go about diagnosing what's causing it, or even which cynlinders it's on if it's not throwing any codes?

Mine use to do the same and I had fouled plugs. Once I replaced them and the wires no problems since! Good luck!

Yes, I would have to agree with this post. Pull the plugs out (I know, it's a bitch) and take a look at them. Might just be a good idea to replace them so you can at least eliminate them as a possible problem. Good luck, man. Keep us posted.

Bring the car to someone with a good scanner (HPtuners, Efilive, Tech2) and let him scan the car. This way it will show which cylinders are misfiring. Knowing that I would swap plugs, coils, injectors from other clyinders that are not misfiring and see if your issue is gone. Also check/clean your front O2 sensors and your MAF sensor.

looked under the car yesterday and found that one of my O2 extensions had melted to the header... hmm, problem there, yes?
would that be the only cause?

Should be... O2's are pretty important. Try that out and see what happens.

took them out, replaced with new vette O2s (Bosch 13111) the ticking is gone but the stuttering between lik 47-55 is still there

EDIT: probably a dumb question... what does a fouled plug look like? and why does it happen?
