I agree with speaking with PAC. PSI is another great spring manufacturer. As for the cam, you also need to compare the durations and intake closing angle at 0.004". I think that will be a bit more telling as it will determine when the cylinder will stop bleeding off intake charge.

The failures on both of the motors i mentioned happened at cruise rpm. The first was ls1 with ms3 just bent a valve and grooved a piston. The second was a 6.0 with 243s bent valves and cracked the whole sleeve on the block. that happened @ 20mph under normal acceleration. I think the duals would have a hard time failing to begin with. but the inner spring would have saved both of these motors in this instance. Wide open throttle is harsh I doubt the inner spring would save u then but I have had to change 2 broken manley singles on my brothers 383 ls1 car. Even after the car ran funny there was a few more wide open hits it was crazy. nothing happened to the valves. The spring broke on the lower part yet had enough left to keep the retainer on and hold the valve up just enough to save it.

Ok well I have a xe-r lobe 224/232 581./.595 114 LSA running on a comp revised 918 single behive. Rated to .600. Do I have anything to worry about?? Car sees pretty regular use, and gets it's paces every once in a while. I don't beat on my car but I do give it the stick from time to time.

Check the spring pressure and see where they're at... only real way to tell.

I ran PRC dual springs on a 233/233 .595/.595 112 LSA cam (XER lobs) for 45,000 miles with no problem....the springs were still good when I replaced them on the next cam swap. I installed another cam (XER lobs) and I have 80,000 miles on the Patriot Gold duals springs I have in the engine at this time..I'll swap them out over the winter and check how much life they have left ... car is a daily driver making 452/418 and now has 216,000 + miles on it. People who change out springs every 15,000 miles are throwing away their money. Unless you are running a large cam with a lot of duration and lift there is no need to swap out springs at such a short interval...If you do not believe me call Texas Speed and ask those guys how long they run springs in their daily drivers.

How you warm the car will have a large effect on spring life as well. If you're having good spring life, I'd be willing to bet that you are one of the few people that actually let their car warm up good before going out and beating it.

Just another factor in spring life, that alot of people overlook.

You are correct sir. I start my car in the morning and it idles for 4-5 minutes before I drive off in it and drive it least 15 minutes before I get on it hard.
