What oil is everyone running these days
I tried searching and I know there`s a ton of posts with this topic.
Im currently running Mobil1 0w40 synthetic in my Bolt on 01 SS. Going to change oil this weekend, any recommendations or stick with the Mobil 1 0w40?

Castrol German Syntec 0W30 still seems to be the top choice for LSX motors. Penzoil Platinum is a good choice, better than Mobil 1 in some motors such as the hemis based on some oil analyses I've seen.

I prefer redline 5w-40 or 10w-40 but also use mobil 1 ow-40 in some of my cars.

I am running Pennzoil Platium now, I like the Pennzoil oil better so far but was running Mobil 1 (had great luck out of it) but I don't run nothing less than 10w30 and if anything could go a little higher. 5w30 is just to thin based oil I would think especially if you run the motor a little hard. Just my opinion.

Castrol Syntec- 5w-40 for easy driving (winter and such)
In the heat (pun....) of the auto-x season, 10w-50 goes in since oil temps can hit 240+
It was the only oil that would keep the valvetrain in my 1.6 turbo Miata from ticking like a time bomb. Mobil 1 was worse then standard Castrol....... Thats my back woods approach to determining which oil is best

dude, i run the same oil. i run castrol syntec 5W-40 and have no oil consumption problems or anything. ive ran it for 3 years straight. i am actually looking at switching to a 5W-30 castrol syntec. but i was wondering if i might have any problems switching.

I just started using amsoil for the first time 2 weeks ago. I was using mobil 1
5w30 when i first got the car then i saw how thin it was i went to 10w30 and still seemed thin so i went to the 15w40 all made by mobil 1 so no i am using 5w30 amsoil seems to be a little thicker. Was wondering about castrol edge so waiting to hear more about it. I always use a delco filter.

I've been running rotella synthetic 5w-40 for a year and some change now. it's priced good, and i think if it can protect a diesel, it'll be able to handle my lil gas burner.
