For the OP - Really large cams are like a really large dick: it all sounds good on paper, and its cool when you first get it going, but then you realize it's worthless for just about everything....

A cam in the 230's with the right valve events will do everything well without being such a pain in the *** to setup, tune, drive in traffic, etc. Since you are measuring the use in miles, this doesn't sound like a track only car.

I was somewhat kidding about the cam I was talking about haha. It would be nasty no doubt. The Trex cam has an IVC of 49 degrees and it normally peaks around 6500 rpm. Everyone thinks the Trex is a high rpm cam but it usually makes more torque @ 5000 rpm than any other cam in a cam only setup. It's all about the valve events, duration does not indicate your rpm. You could have a 220/220 cam with a 120 LSA +0 that would rev out higher than a cam with 250 duration @ .050" on a 108 LSA. Alot of the engine masters use huge cams with very tight lobe seperations (98-104) to produce the most average power in a designated RPM range.

The polluter cam sounds pretty nasty. I have to agree with the statement about having to big of a cam.

Nothing like having a 240+ duration cam and 350 lbs of torque at the wheels, especially when you get walked by a 224 or 230 cam. Just my .02

Bigger isn't always better. I'm sure Allan can spec you a cam bigger than the F15 that will be nasty sounding but still give you good driveability cause the Godzilla is way to big for a 346

I don't really care if gets walked by grandma in a wheelchair. I'm just trying to figure out some specs to see just how far I can push the envelope as far as the valvetrain goes on a 346. I've got a 6.0 lined up to build. I guess I just feel like giving my buddy that'll be tuning it a headache

i have a trex and afr car and daily drive it. it was tuned by moe bailey and i have no issues with it to speak of, it is a 6spd car.
